The timeline pivots at the exact center of the 7-year covenant (Daniel 9:27).Sacrifice Taken Away:
The 3.5-Year Flight & Wilderness Refuge
1. The Trigger: Sacrifices Halted & The Desecration
The Removal of the Tamid: The daily sacrifices are forcibly taken away, and the "abomination of desolation" is erected in the holy place for 1,290 days / 1,260 days (Daniel 12:11).
Passover Typology: Just as Yeshua was cut off at Passover as the true lamb (1 Corinthians 5:7), the adversary counterfeits this timing by cutting off the offerings at the spring feast, initiating an immediate, Exodus-style flight into the desert.
The Command to Flee: Yeshua explicitly identifies this desecration as the signal for those in Judea to drop everything and escape into the mountains without turning back for possessions (Matthew 24:15–20).
2. The Refuge: Edom, Bozrah, and Sela (Petra)
Spared from the Beast: As the oppressor sweeps through the land, Edom, Moab, and Ammon (modern Jordan) are specifically spared from his occupation, preserving an open escape route (Daniel 11:41).
The Sanctuary at Sela: Isaiah commands Moab and Sela (Hebrew for "rock," translated into Greek as Petra) to shelter and hide the outcasts of Zion until the destroyer is consumed (Isaiah 16:1–4).
The Fold of Bozrah: The remnant is hemmed in for protection like sheep inside an enclosure (Bozrah)—entered through a narrow passage, reflecting Petra's canyon entrance (the Siq) (Micah 2:12).
3. The 3.5-Year (1,260-Day) Preservation
Supernatural Nourishment: Borne on "eagles' wings" into her prepared wilderness refuge (Exodus 19:4 pattern), the remnant is divinely fed and shielded from the serpent’s flood for the entire 3.5-year duration—specifically 1,260 days, or "a time, and times, and half a time" (Revelation 12:6, 14–16).
4. The Breakout and Return
The Breaker Arrives: At the end of the 3.5 years, Messiah Yeshua descends to Bozrah as the "Breaker" to shatter the gate and lead His enclosed flock out (Micah 2:13).
Marching from Edom: He executes vengeance, marching forth from Edom with garments stained red from Bozrah (Isaiah 63:1–4; Revelation 19:13; Habakkuk 3:3) before arriving to stand on the Mount of Olives (Zechariah 14:4).
